What if agricultural waste became the raw material for sustainable solutions in farming, food production, and climate action?

At Meal2Materials, we’re excited to introduce five new Highly Qualified Personnel (HQPs) who are making this vision a reality. Welcome:

  • Yidan (Daniella) Wen (Queen’s)

  • Tharushi Samarasinghe (Manitoba)

  • Mohamed Aboughaly (McMaster)

  • Viet Dai Vo (Queen’s)

  • Ava Ettehadolhagh (McMaster)

These talented graduate researchers each bring unique expertise and a shared passion for sustainability. They're focused on transforming canola meal, an abundant byproduct from Canada’s thriving canola oil industry, into innovative, high-value products.

Accelerating Canada’s Circular Bioeconomy

Collaborating closely with university experts and industry leaders, our newest team members will accelerate the creation of practical, scalable solutions. Their research aims to:

  • Convert agricultural residues into valuable bioproducts

  • Reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions

  • Open new markets and economic opportunities for Canadian agriculture

From laboratory discoveries to real-world applications, Meal2Materials is helping to build a circular bioeconomy that benefits farmers, businesses, and the environment alike.

Stay tuned!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share individual profiles and updates from each researcher, highlighting their personal journeys and groundbreaking projects.
